The Vietnamese leader commended on the progress of the bilateral ties, particularly in all fields of politics-diplomacy and economics-trade-investment.

He proposed both sides foster close coordination to promote the multi-faceted relations between the two countries more substantively, intensively and effectively via strengthening delegation exchanges to increase mutual understanding and trust.

The host highly appraised the two-way trade value exceeding US$500 million, adding that both sides need to enhance economic ties to match their good political relations and potentials.

He underscored the importance of promoting and balancing trade ties via facilitating the imports of each nation's commodities, including Viet Nam's farm produce.

It is necessary to establish and carry out cooperative mechanisms in terms of trade to strengthen their linkages, contributing to ensuring food security, diversifying markets, products and supply chains, he noted.

Viet Nam is willing to play a bridging role in accelerating cooperation between ASEAN and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), affirmed Pham.

The Prime Minister also urged both nations to promote collaboration in agriculture, making agriculture as one of key cooperative areas.

Pham called for cooperation in digital transformation, start-up, innovation, green conversion, renewable energy, circular economy, defense-security, petrol, poverty reduction, health, education, sports and tourism and considering to launch a direct air route between the two countries.

For his part, Yemi Osinbajo asserted that Nigeria identifies Viet Nam as a partner of strategic importance, expressing his wish to expand economic cooperation with the Southeast Asian nation.

Regarding international and regional issues of mutual concerns, both sides reiterated the importance of handling disputes via peaceful measures in line with international law./.
