VGP - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI) assist Viet Nam in getting access to vaccines against epidemics and enhancing the development of pharmaceutical industry.
The Government leader made the above suggestion during his reception for Chief Program Strategy Officer at the GAVI and former Managing Director of COVAX Facility Aurélia Nguyen in Ha Noi on January 13.
Pham expressed thanks to Aurélia Nguyen, COVAX Facility and the international community for their valuable assistance for Viet Nam during the COVID-19 outbreaks, thus helping the Southeast Asian nation successfully contain the pandemic.
Amidst the complex development of new variants, he recommended the GAVI and Nguyen share information about the pandemic and vaccination situation around the world to help Viet Nam design proper vaccination strategy in the near future.
For her side, Nguyen affirmed that Viet Nam is among countries with strong immunization programs, adding that the GAVI commits to assisting and cooperating with Viet Nam in launching vaccination campaigns.
