Pham stressed that a semiconductor ecosystem has already taken shape in Viet Nam, with the presence of many global tech giants such as Samsung, Intel, NVIDIA, VDL-ETG, Tecnotion and Coherent, alongside Vietnamese technology enterprises with strong potential for cooperation, including Viettel, FPT and VSAP Lab.
The Prime Minister took the occasion to seek the Dutch semiconductor giant ASML's support to connect qualified Vietnamese enterprises so that they can participate more deeply in its global supply chains, thereby diversifying and enhancing the stability of the group's supply chains in the Asian region.
Pham proposed the Dutch firm expand training programs, expert exchanges, internships and scholarship support for the nation in the semiconductor field. The Vietnamese Government remains committed to accompanying and creating the most favorable conditions for foreign enterprises, including ASML, to invest and operate successfully and sustainably in the country, he affirmed.
In reply, Eduard Stiphout said ASML plays a central role in the global semiconductor value chain.
Commending Viet Nam's development strategy based on science, technology, innovation and digital transformation – including the development of the semiconductor industry, the ASML vice president stated that the group is ready to become an integral part of the country's semiconductor sector.
Agreeing with his host's views, Stiphout said his company is studying the possibility of expanding its supply chain in Viet Nam, cooperating in the establishment of a training, research and development center, considering a formal presence in the country, and assessing opportunities to supply equipment to potential customers.
These efforts would contribute to the development of Viet Nam's semiconductor ecosystem, as envisaged by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, he added./.
