Prime Minister praises rescue team for successful misssion in Myanmar
VGP - A commendation ceremony was held in Ha Noi on April 9 for the Vietnamese rescue team who successfully completing their mission in helping Myanmar overcome the aftermath of the earthquake.

The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh, Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang, and Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang.
From March 30-April 7, 2025, the Ministry of National Defense sent a delegation of 80 personnel along with nearly 60 tons of goods and equipment to Myanmar to assist the country in overcoming the aftermath of the earthquake disaster.
They discovered 21 bodies, and joined hands with local rescue forces from Myanmar, Turkey, and the UAE, to successfully rescue a 26-year-old man.
They handed over to Myanmar's Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement a total of 50 tons of dry rations; 3,026 tents; over 20 tons of equipment including generators, food, medical supplies, and other essential items.
Members of the delegation also donated US$5,000 to support the families of the victims and organized medical check-ups and free medication distribution for more than 200 local residents.
Meanwhile, the 26-member delegation from the Ministry of Public Security detected seven bodies, provided two rounds of aid to Myanmar, including medicines, medical equipment, essential supplies, and lodging items, with a total weight of 11 tons.
Addressing the event, the Prime Minister said, this is the third time Viet Nam has deployed forces to directly carry out humanitarian assistance and disaster relief missions abroad.
It demonstrates significant progress in capacity and experience, affirming the competence and reputation of Viet Nam's search and rescue forces in addressing non-traditional security challenges, stressed Pham.
Their efforts have been deeply appreciated and highly regarded by the international community, as well as by the Government and people of Myanmar, he noted.
The Prime Minister spoke highly of the efforts and achievements of the military and police delegations in supporting earthquake recovery efforts in Myanmar, as well as other agencies that provided proactive coordination to ensure the success of the mission.
Their outstanding performance contributed to enhancing the prestige and standing of both the Vietnamese military and the nation on the international stage, reiterated Pham.
He tasked the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Public Security, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with evaluating and drawing lessons from the mission, and studying international best practices into training programs to enhance the quality and effectiveness of disaster prevention and response efforts./.
