Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh meets Saudi Crown Prince in Riyadh
VGP – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in Riyadh on October 29.
The Saudi Crown Prince welcomed Pham to visit Saudi Arabia and attend the 8th Future Investment Initiative Conference, saying that Viet Nam's participation would make significant contributions to the success of this year conference.
Pham congratulated on the achievements gained by Saudi Arabia in the process of realizing its Vision 2030, which have contributed to raising the role and position of Saudi Arabia in the Middle East and the world.
He took the occasion to convey greetings from General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee To Lam, President Luong Cuong, and Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man to King Salman bin Abdullaziz. He also invited Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to visit Viet Nam at a convenient time.
Mohammed Bin Salman expressed sincere thanks to the invitations of the senior Vietnamese leaders, affirming that he would visit Viet Nam soon.
In a friendly, open and sincere atmosphere, the two Prime Ministers spoke highly of the remarkable progress in the Viet Nam-Saudi Arabia relations over the past 25 years and agreed to work closely together to lift up the bilateral ties to a new height.
Both sides agreed to increase the exchange of delegations at all levels; prioritize economic cooperation as a key pillar of the bilateral ties with an aim to position Saudi Arabia as a top investor in Viet Nam and to raise the two-way trade to at least US$10 billion by the end of this decade.
The two leaders agreed to define that "future cooperation" pillar should cover innovation, green transition, digital transformation.
Both sides agreed to make education, tourism, labor and people-to-people a solid foundation for the two countries' relationship; continue close and mutual support on regional and international issues at international forums, especially the United Nations, in order to mitigate risks and strengthen dialogue and cooperation for peace and development in the region and the world.
Prime Minister Pham called on Saudi Arabia to investment in strategic, iconic and breakthrough projects in Viet Nam, consider building a transshipment and storage center for crude oil and petrochemical products in Viet Nam for export to other markets in Southeast Asia.
Pham suggested Saudi Arabia exploit the potential for developing Viet Nam's Halal industry, connect innovation centers between the two countries, coordinate in organizing international technology exhibitions, and cooperate in building innovation ecosystem in Viet Nam and share its experience to help Viet Nam build an international financial center in Ho Chi Minh City.
The Vietnamese Prime Minister asked the Saudi Arabian side to create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community in Saudi Arabia to integrate deeply into the host country and actively contribute to the development of Saudi Arabia and the friendly cooperation between the two countries.
