Pham affirmed Viet Nam attaches importance to the friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Costa Rica – one of Viet Nam's top partners in Central America and Caribbean.

The Prime Minister suggested the two countries continue to strengthen political trust through the exchange of delegations at all levels and political consultation; expand bilateral economic and trade cooperation and people-to-people exchanges. He thanked Costa Rica for having recognized Viet Nam's market economy status.

The two leaders agreed to task their ministries and agencies to explore new measures to promote bilateral trade and investment on the basis of the potential and needs of each side.

Both sides agreed to boost cooperation in promising fields like agriculture, tourism, production of consumer goods, software industry, and digital transformation.

President Chaves expressed his affection and admiration for Vietnamese people's bravery and indomitable will in the past struggle for national independence and their self-reliance in the current national construction process.

The two leaders underlined the need for stronger international cooperation to protect the ocean, with a focus on reducing trash and greenhouse gas emissions, and improving people's awareness through education.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Pham suggested Costa Rica send a high-level delegation to Viet Nam to attend the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime, scheduled to take place in Ha Noi in October this year.

President Chaves kindly invited Prime Minister Pham to visit Costa Rica./.
