He is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien, Deputy Minister of National Defense Vo Minh Luong, Deputy Minister of Public Security Le Quoc Hung, Vice Chairman of the Central Commission for External Affairs Truong Quang Hoai Nam, Vice Chairman of the Government Office Nguyen Sy Hiep, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Do Thanh Trung, Deputy Minister Minister of Transport Nguyen Xuan Sang, Deputy Minister of Finance Bui Van Khang, Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Viet Nam Pham Quang Dung, Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi.

Pham’s tour is a important move to concretize Viet Nam’s consistent foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, diversification and multilateralization of external relations, being a trusted friend and partner, an active and responsible member of the international organization.

His participation in the summit reflects Viet Nam’s role and responsible contributions to multilateral mechanisms, contributing to resolving global challenges, promoting sustainable and inclusive development and voices of developing countries.

It also aims to further boost and deepen cooperation with Russia and other countries.

Under the motto Strengthening Multilateralism for Just Global Development and Security, Russia will act precisely in this manner and focus on positive and constructive cooperation with all countries concerned, during its 2024 BRICS Chairmanship.

In general, Russia will continue to promote all aspects of the BRICS partnership in three key areas: politics and security, economy and finance, and cultural and humanitarian contacts, said RussianPresident Putin.

"Our priorities include promoting cooperation in science, high technology, healthcare, environmental protection, culture, sports, youth exchanges, and civil society," said the Russian President.

Originally the BRICS included five countries, Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

In 2024, the founding members of BRICS—Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa—will formally welcome into their fold five new members: Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE)./.
