Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hosts Laos' newly-appointed Foreign Minister

Pham congratulated Thongsavanh Phomvihane on his appointment as the new Foreign Minister of Laos, expressing his belief that Thongsavanh Phomvihane will excellently fulfill his tasks to contribute to Laos' course of national development and international integration as well as to the relations between Viet Nam and Laos.
Pham expressed his belief that under the leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Laos will successfully implement the Resolution adopted at the 11th National Party Congress in 2021 and successfully organize the Party Congress at all levels toward the 12th National Party Congress.
Viet Nam is ready to provide impartial and pure support for Laos as brothers of one family for mutual development, the Prime Minister affirmed.
The great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Viet Nam and Laos is a unique relationship in the world, noted Pham.
He expressed his pleasure to witness the constant growth of bilateral trade exchange, which reached US$2.25 billion in 2024, a year-on-year increase of 38.2 percent.
On investment, Viet Nam remains the third largest foreign investor in Laos, with 267 active projects worth US$5.7 billion, Pham said.
He underscored the important role of the two foreign ministries in promoting the implementation of high-level agreements and joint projects between the two countries./.
