Anwar, as current ASEAN Chair, briefed Pham about Malaysia’s measures to promote the resolution of regional issues raised during their phone call on April 6, 2025.

Pham highly valued the efforts by Prime Minister Anwar and Malaysia in promoting the settlement of regional issues, emphasizing that ASEAN should play a leading role in resolving the Myanmar issue and continue solidarity and collaboration with Myanmar in overcoming the consequences of recent powerful earthquake and in rehabilitation process through ASEAN’s existing mechanisms such as the ASEAN Coordinating Center for Humanitarian Assistance on Disaster Management (AHA Center) and the ASEAN Secretary-General.

Prime Minister Pham affirmed that Viet Nam, as an active and responsible member of ASEAN, supports and coordinates closely with Malaysia to ensure the success of upcoming ASEAN meetings.

The two Prime Ministers agreed to maintain the exchange of information and effective collaboration to further deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries and to build an ASEAN of solidarity and unity./.
