Prime Minister pays tributes to former Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji

He was accompanied by Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Doan Anh, among others.

General Secretary and President To Lam, President of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man and Standing member of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat Tran Cam Tu sent condolence wreaths of condolence.

The Prime Minister conveyed deep condolences from General Secretary and President To Lam, President of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man, Standing member of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat Tran Cam Tu and other Vietnamese leaders to General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, Chinese leaders and the family of Comrade Zhu.

The Party, State and people of Viet Nam highly appreciate Comrade Zhu's dedication and important contributions to relations between the two Parties, States and people of the two countries, affirmed Le.

Chinese Ambassador to Viet Nam He Wei, for his part, conveyed his sincere thanks from General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping and other Chinese leaders to General Secretary and President To Lam and other senior Vietnamese leaders for their condolences and wreaths.

The Ambassador affirmed that the Party, State and people of China always attach importance and give priority to relations with Viet Nam, and stand ready to further promote the friendship and comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and Viet Nam–China community with a shared future that carries strategic significance.

He expressed his belief that under the leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, headed by General Secretary and President To Lam, and the direction and administration of the Government and the Prime Minister, Viet Nam will successfully achieve its development goals in the new era.

Zhu died of illness at the age of 98 in Beijing on Wednesday. He served as the Chinese premier from 1998 to 2003./.
