Participants to the meeting also include leaders of several ministries, central agencies, the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), and the Viet Nam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (VNASME).

The event aims to seek solutions to help private enterprises thrive robustly in the new era-the era of the nation's rise.

Addressing the event, Prime Minister Pham emphasized that private economic sector serves as an important driving force for economic development, and an important component of our country's socialist-oriented market economy.

The private economic sector contributes nearly 45 percent of the nation's GDP, accounting for over 40 percent of social investment, 85 percent of jobs, 35 percent of import turnover, and 25 percent of total export value, according to the Prime Minister.

The Party and State have issued resolutions and laws to create favorable conditions for enterprises and businessmen, especially Resolution 41-NQ/TW dated October 10, 2023, of the Politburo on building and promoting the role of Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the new period, he said.

Pham said 2025 is of special significance as it is the final year to implement the 5-year socio-economic development plan 2021-2025. The Government will double effort to accelerate GDP growth to at least 8 percent, creating momentum for double-digit growth in the following years.

This is also the year of many important events such as the 95th founding anniversary of the Party, the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification, the 135th anniversary of the birth of President Ho Chi Minh, the 80th founding anniversary of the country.

In addition, Party Congresses at all levels will be held this year towards the 14th National Party Congress.

Also in 2025, Viet Nam will implement a "revolution" in rearranging and streamlining the political system's apparatus, and the Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation, and digital transformation.

Against that backdrop, Pham called on businesses to strive for at least double-digit growth and contribute to the implementation of the above-mentioned major tasks in a bid to help the country realize its goals by 2030 to mark the 100th founding anniversary of the Party, and by 2045 to mark the 100th founding anniversary of the country.

He also called on private enterprises to serve as pioneers in innovation, digital transformation, development and application of science and technology; contribute more actively and effectively to the implementation of the three strategic breakthroughs (institutions, infrastructure and human resources).

Pham asked private enterprises to join hands in promoting the development of digital economy, green economy, circular economy, sharing economy, knowledge economy, creative economy; ensuring social security, especially in eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses and building social housing for workers./.
