Prime Minister Le Minh Hung meets with foreign leaders in New Delhi

VGP - Prime Minister Le Minh Hung met with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, Philippine President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, and World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi on September 13 (local time).

At his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung expressed his sincere appreciation to President Putin, the Russian Government and people for their warm, thoughtful and cordial reception during the highly successful recent State visit to Russia by General Secretary and President To Lam and his spouse. 

He affirmed that the Vietnamese Government would direct ministries and sectors to promptly implement the important outcomes of the visit and translate them into specific and practical cooperation programs at an early date.

President Vladimir Putin expressed his delight at the outcomes of the State visit by General Secretary and President To Lam and his spouse, expressing his belief that the agreements reached would be effectively implemented, thereby contributing to further advancing the Viet Nam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership.

At his meetings with leaders of countries and international organizations, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung discussed a number of important issues aimed at promoting and deepening Viet Nam's relations with these countries and partners across various fields.

Leaders of the countries and international organizations spoke highly of Viet Nam's socio-economic development achievements and expressed their appreciation of and desire to further promote substantive and effective relations with Viet Nam.

The Presidents of Indonesia and the Philippines, the Prime Minister of Malaysia and Prime Minister Le Minh Hung agreed to continue close coordination and contribute to the success of ASEAN Year 2026, under the chairmanship of the Philippines.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres highly valued Viet Nam's increasingly prominent role and position, and expressed his hope that Viet Nam would continue to play an active role and make positive contributions to upholding multilateralism and addressing global challenges.

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus spoke highly of Viet Nam's new orientations and policies on developing its healthcare system, affirming that WHO stands ready to coordinate with and accompany Viet Nam in successfully achieving its goals of developing the healthcare system, as well as its set targets for sustainable socio-economic development.

The meetings and exchanges between Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and leaders of countries and international organizations contributed to strengthening political trust, promoting bilateral cooperation, enhancing coordination at multilateral forums, thereby creating further momentum for Viet Nam's relations with its partners in favor of national development./.
