Prime Minister Le Minh Hung hosts official welcome ceremony for Slovak counterpart Robert Fico

VGP - Prime Minister Le Minh Hung hosted an official welcome ceremony of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico at the Presidential Palace in Ha Noi on Monday morning.

 Prime Minister Fico is on an official visit to Viet Nam from April 12 to 14. This is the first visit by a foreign leader to Viet Nam after Viet Nam elects new leadership team.

During his stay in Viet Nam, Fico is expected to meet with General Secretary and State President To Lam, hold talks with Prime Minister Le Minh Hung.

Viet Nam and Slovakia established diplomatic relations on February 2, 1950.

The two-way trade reached over US$1.7 billion in 2025, according to Viet Nam Customs.

As of December last year, Slovakia had 16 investment projects in Viet Nam with total registered capital of nearly US$141 million, ranking 47th out of 153 countries and territories investing in Viet Nam.

Around 10,000 Vietnamese people are living and working in Slovakia, becoming the 14th largest foreign community in the European country./.
