Prime Minister hosts U.S. delegation of aerospace, defense, and security companies
VGP - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Wednesday hosted a reception for a delegation of aerospace, defense, and security companies under the U.S.-ASEAN Business Council (USABC).
The delegation, led by USABC Senior Vice President and Regional Managing Director Brian McFeeters and President and CEO of I.M. Systems Group Imelda Martin-Hum, are in Viet Nam to attend the second Viet Nam International Defense Expo 2024.
Pham spoke highly of the delegation's visit to Viet Nam to attend the expo, which is of great significance that takes place on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Viet Nam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the All People's National Defense Festival.
The Prime Minister suggested the USABC and U.S. enterprises continue to work closely with Vietnamese agencies and organizations and enhance collaboration with Vietnamese state-owned and private corporations.
He called on the USABC to step up technology transfer to, investment and production in Viet Nam, help the Southeast Asian nation train high-quality human resources for emerging industries.
Viet Nam is committed to ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of investors while maintaining an environment of peace, stability, cooperation and development, firmly safeguarding the country's independence and sovereignty to provide investors with the confidence to launch sustainable, long-term, and effective investment in the country, noted Pham.
The Vietnamese government stands ready to listen and engage in dialogues to address existing challenges, improve business environment, and create the most favorable conditions for American businesses to operate successfully in Viet Nam, he emphasized.
He took this occasion to suggest the USABC and U.S. businesses raise their voices in urging the U.S. Administration to boost sustainable economic, trade, and investment cooperation between the two countries, recognize Viet Nam's market economy status, and remove Viet Nam from the list of countries restricted from accessing high-tech exports.
McFeeters, for his part, hailed the organization of the expo, which is regarded as an opportunity for U.S. corporations to engage with Vietnamese defense industry agencies, organizations and businesses.
Representatives of the USABC highlighted the great potential for cooperation between the two countries, expecting to uphold their bridging role between the two nations.
They vowed to expand investment, enhance collaboration with Vietnamese partners, and make positive contributions to deepening the bilateral ties towards intensive, practical and effective manner./.
