Prime Minister hosts reception for Infosys cofounder Narayana Murthy

VGP – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hosted a reception for the cofounder and retired chairman of Indian tech giant Infosys, Nagavara Ramaroa Narayana Murthy, in Ha Noi on May 20.

Pham welcomed Narayana Murthy to Viet Nam, spoke highly of Narayana Murthy's role in information technology and software area as well as Infosys' position in India and the world.

India is one of the top priorities in Viet Nam's foreign policy, affirmed Prime Minister Pham, adding that he and Prime Minister Narendra Modi met several times and agreed to boost economic, trade, investment, science and technology cooperation commensurate with the potential and stature of the Viet Nam-India comprehensive strategic partnership.

He called on Infosys cooperate with Viet Nam through concrete projects, pledging to create favorable conditions for Indian business giants to invest in information technology, software, artificial intelligence, and semiconductor chip areas.

Pham also suggested India, Infosys and India experts to help Viet Nam mobilize resources for the development of information technology, software, artificial intelligence, and semiconductor chip.

For his part, Narayana Murthy expressed his admiration for Viet Nam's struggle for national independence in the past and its socio-economic achievements in recent years.

Infosys stands ready to cooperate with Viet Nam in advancing the development of information technology, innovation, big data, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing, said Narayana Murthy./.
