Prime Minister hosts reception for Argentine Foreign Minister
VGP – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hosted a reception for Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship Santiago Andres Cafiero who is on a three-day official visit to Viet Nam.

Pham affirmed Viet Nam always attaches importance to the traditional friendship and comprehensive partnership with Argentina.
He thanked Argentina for having donated 500,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses in November last year to help Viet Nam in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Pham congratulated on the achievements gained by the Argentine Government under the leadership of President Alberto Ángel Fernández in reviving the economy, ensuring social security, and improving its position on the international arena.
The Government chief urged both sides to coordinate closely in arranging high-level visits and contracts, and devising a plan to mark the 50th founding anniversary of the diplomatic ties next year.
He also asked the two countries to improve the effectiveness of the existing cooperation mechanisms such as the Inter-governmental committee on economic, trade and investment cooperation, and political consultation between the two foreign ministries while maintaining coordination and mutual support at international organizations and multilateral forums, thus contributing to the settlement of regional and international issues.
Pham spoke highly of the positive growth of bilateral trade ties, with the two-way trade reaching US$4.5 billion in 2021.
He took the occasion to convey his invitation to President Alberto Ángel Fernández and other Argentine Government leaders to visit Viet Nam.
For his part, Cafiero congratulated Viet Nam on successful management of the COVID-19 pandemic, expressing his belief that the Government of Viet Nam would fruitfully implement its program on socio-economic recovery and development program.
The Government of Argentina treasures Viet Nam's rising position and role in the region and the world and expects to further advance the comprehensive partnership with Viet Nam to a new height, Cafiero affirmed.
He also expressed his support for settlement of international disputes through peaceful measures on the basis of the United Nations Charter and international law.
The same day, Cafiero and his Vietnamese counterpart Bui Thanh Son signed an agreement on trans-national organized crime combat and another on human trafficking prevention, control and investigation, and protection of victims of human trafficking./.
