Pham congratulated the Australian Labor Party and Prime Mininister Anthony Albanese on winning the 2025 general election, emphasizing that the victory reflects Australian people's trust in the Labor Party and Albanese' leadership to lead Australia to stable development.

The Vietnamese Prime Minister highly valued the robust advancement of the Viet Nam-Australia relations over the recent past, suggesting that Australia give high priority to the Southeast Asia region in general and Viet Nam in particular.

He also spoke highly of Australia's Southeast Asia Economic Strategy, expresing his belief that the implementation of this strategy would help strongly bolster economic cooperation between Australia and Viet Nam.

Viet Nam stands ready to discuss with Australia on a bilateral trade and investment agreement in a bid to soon raise the two-way trade to US$20 billion and to double current investment volume, affirmed Pham.

Albanese said he wishes to further promote the substantial implementation of the Australia-Viet Nam comprehensive strategic partnership in the coming time.

In response to current economic-trade challenges, Prime Minister Albanese stressed that the two countries should continue to protect the free and open multilateral trading system while expanding market access for each other's goods and services.

Albanese also agreed that both sides should maintain the exchange of delegations on all channels and at all levels, particularly the annual meeting between the two Prime Ministers./.
