Prime Minister attends inauguration ceremonies of key projects in Binh Dinh
VGP - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Saturday attended the inauguration ceremony of Dong Mit reservoir in the south-central coast province of Binh Dinh.
Dong Mit reservoir, located in An Lao District, has a capacity of nearly 90 million cubic meter.
Construction work of the VND2.14 trillion (over US$91 million) project started in February 2019.
The reservoir supplies water for 276,000 local people, 267 hectares of aquaculture, and 250 hectares of industrial production.
The project also helps improve the ecological environment, prevent saltwater intrusion, reduce floods for downstream areas and solve water shortage issues for northern districts of Binh Dinh.
*The same day, the Government chief cut the ribbon to inaugurate the coastal road project Cat Tien- My Thanh section.
The project has a length of more than 115 kilometers, stretching from Quy Nhon City to Hoai Nhon Town of Binh Dinh Province, with a total investment capital of more than VND9,000 billion (US$384 million).
Earlier the same day, the Prime Minister visited Phu Cat Airport in the locality and listened to a report on the airport expansion project.
Currently, the airport is serving for domestic air routes connecting to the capital city of Ha Noi, the northern city of Hai Phong, the central provinces of Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Thua-Thien Hue, and two southern localities including Can Tho City and Ho Chi Minh City.
Phu Cat Airport handled around 1.5 million passengers per year.
According to a draft master plan on the system of airports and airfields nationwide in the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, the Ministry of Transport proposed to increase the capacity of Phu Cat airport from 2 million passengers per year to 5 million by 2030 and 7 million by 2050./.
