NA passes various laws

The National Assembly officially adopted three important laws in tax and finance, including the Law on Management and Use of State Capital in Production and Business, the revised Law on Excise Tax and the Law on amendments and supplements to some articles of the Laws on Tax.

The Law on Management and Use of State Capital in Production and Business include 10 Chapters with 66 Articles, regulating issues related to investment and capital supplements sourced from the State budget for the establishment of businesses, in which the State Investment which are expected to give a strong boost to the country's business environment.

Ministry enhances international cooperation for rice development
 
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) and the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) co-held a workshop on restructuring the rice sector to serve new-style rural area construction.
 
Delegates discussed measures to build Viet Nam’s rice brand name, improve rice breeds and set up a value chain for rice products with a focus on the role of small farmer households and exports.
 
Through the workshop, the MARD wants to build a framework for an effective and feasible cooperation program between the ministry and the IRRI for the development of the rice sector of Viet Nam in the future.
 
VN, Denmark mark 43-year diplomatic relations

The Viet Nam – Denmark Friendship Association (VDFA) and the Denmark Embassy in Viet Nam celebrated the 43rd anniversary of the two nations' diplomatic relations in Ha Noi.
 
Denmark’s Ambassador to Viet Nam John Nielsen said over the past 43 years, bilateral relations have grown steadily, evidenced by the sound relations between the two governments and peoples.
 
In the coming time, Viet Nam and Denmark are strengthening relations with a focus on political dialogue and cooperation in green growth, clean technology, culture, education and training.
 
ASEAN army commanders gather in VN

The 15th edition of the ASEAN Chiefs of Army Multilateral Meeting (ACAMM-15), themed “Enhancing coordinating capacity for ASEAN armies to respond to non-traditional challenges” is taking place in Ha Noi on November 26-29.

The event aims to foster exchange and integration, contributing to enhancing solidarity, mutual understanding and trust among ASEAN militaries. It also demonstrates Viet Nam’s proactive and responsible role in regional common issues.

The event is held by the Viet Nam People’s Army for the first time.

Spain funds HCM City’s Metro line No.5 construction study

The Spanish government has pledged to provide €3.4 million for Ho Chi Minh City to carry out a pre-feasibility study for Metro line No.5 which will link Saigon bridge to new Can Giuoc coach station.

The pledge was confirmed by Maria Aparici Gonzalez, Deputy Director General of the Department on Trade Policy with Europe, Asia and Oceania of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness of Spain during her working session with the city’s leaders.

According to Gonzalez, the Spanish Government will offer a €15 million credit scheme and Ho Chi Minh City could access the sum for additional finance for the metro line No.5 project.
