NA Vice Chairwoman hails RoK association operations
 
Welcoming a VESAMO delegation in Ha Noi, National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Nguyen ThiKim Ngan asked the two countries’ friendship associations, including the Association of People Loving Viet Nam in the Republic of Korea (VESAMO), to continue organising exchange activities to further enhance bilateral ties.

VESAMO President Chang Ho Ick said that his visit, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of southern liberation and national reunification and the 20-year partnership between Busan and Ho Chi Minh City, also aims to promote the bilateral friendship.

Investment agreement between ASEAN, India ratified
 
The PM has approved an investment agreement in the framework of the Frame Agreement on comprehensive economic cooperation between the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the Republic of India, which was signed on November 12, 2014 in Myanmar.
 
The Government asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to carry out diplomatic procedures as regulated and the Ministry of Planning and Investment to cooperate with relevant ministries and agencies to launch the agreement.
 
Tougher actions needed to fight smuggling
 
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc asked relevant agencies to translate determination into tougher actions in fighting smuggling and trade frauds.
 
He stressed the need for the involvement of the entire political system, ministries, sectors and localities in prevention work.

In the first quarter of 2015, authorised forces detected nearly 50,000 violated cases, retrieving around VND3 trillion in tax.
They also started legal proceeds against over 430 violators involved in 351 cases.
 
Deputy PM meets new Brazilian, Russian ambassadors
 
Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh met the new Ambassadors of Brazil and Russia to Viet Nam in Ha Noi.
 
Brazilian Ambassador Marco Antonio Diniz will take over Vitoria Alice Cleaver for the next tenure. 

Meanwhile, Russian Ambassador VnukovKonstantin Vasilievich will replace Andrei Kovtun to take charge of day-to-day affairs at the embassy in Ha Noi.

 
Deputy PM hosts Lao economic commission head
 
Deputy PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc welcomed Bouasone Bouphavanh, Head of the Lao Party Central Committee’s Commission for Economic Development Strategy Research, in Ha Noi.

He congratulated Laos on its important achievements in both domestic and foreign affairs, saying that they are significant to the country’s building and safeguarding cause and towards consolidating the special solidarity between Laos and Viet Nam and maintaining peace and stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
 
The two sides should also intensify cooperation within the ASEAN framework and at regional and international forums, he added.
 
South Africa’s freedom day marked in VN
 
The South African Embassy in Viet Nam held a ceremony in Ha Noi  to celebrate the 21st anniversary of its country’s Freedom Day (April 27, 1994 - April 27, 2015).
 
At the ceremony, South African Ambassador to Viet Nam, Kgomotso Ruth Magau emphasised South Africa had established close friendship with Viet Nam since the1950s and expressed her wish to cement the ties further for mutual economic growth and better living standards for both nations’ people. 
 
Both sides expressed their belief that the two countries will gain greater achievements in their bilateral ties, in the basic interests of their peoples, and for peace and stability in the region and the world.
 
Czech PM appreciates ties with VN
 
The Czech Republic always treasures its traditional friendship with Viet Nam, PM Bohuslav Sobotka has proclaimed while receiving Vietnamese Ambassador to the country Truong Manh Son. 
 
Ambassador Son declared that stimulating trade affiliation between the two countries is the top priority during his tenure. 

Both sides reached a consensus to boost delegation exchanges and cooperation in sectors in which they excel.
 
Dong Nai aims to enhance exports
 
The southern province of Dong Nai plans to earn $14.4 billion  from exports in 2015, up 15%  from 2014. 

The department said the objective is within reach thanks to the import demand of firms from France, New Zealand and Hong Kong for Vietnamese products, including clothes, construction materials, sanitary equipment and foodstuffs.

 
Growth is also expected to be buoyed by large orders being shifted to Viet Nam thanks to tax and customs incentives from a series of free trade agreements signed and to be signed between Viet Nam and other countries.
