President receives credential letters from Croatian, Senegalese Ambassadors
VGP – President Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Monday received letters of credentials from Croatian Ambassador Ivan Velimir Starcevic and Senegalese Ambassador Abdoulaye Barro.
At his reception for the Croatian Ambassador, President Nguyen affirmed Viet Nam always attaches importance to consolidating and developing friendship and cooperation with Croatia.
On behalf of the State and people of Viet Nam, Nguyen thanked the Government of Croatia for donating 60,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses to Viet Nam last year, which indicated the traditional friendship between the two countries.
He reiterated Viet Nam stands ready to support stronger ties between Croatia and ASEAN as well as its member countries.
Receiving the Senegalese Ambassador, President Nguyen affirmed that Senegal is an important traditional partner of Viet Nam in Africa.
Nguyen expressed his belief that Senegal will successfully undertake the rotating Presidency of the African Union in 2022, extending thanks for Senegal's support for the establishment of official relationship between Viet Nam and the African Union.
He suggested both sides step up the exchange of delegations and continue mutual support at multilateral forums, especially the United Nations and the International Organization of La Francophonie.
Nguyen also asked the two countries to review and promote the signing of important agreements in order to improve legal framework for bilateral relations./.
