At the meeting between the Vietnamese President and Australian Prime Minister, both sides agreed that achievements in Viet Nam-Australia strategic partnership lay an important foundation to elevate the bilateral relations to a new height.

They vowed to continue supporting each other at regional and international forums, such as the UN, ASEAN and APEC, share viewpoints on regional and international issues, including the East Sea issue, and promote cooperation in the Sub-Mekong region.

Albanese affirmed that Australia attaches importance to the relationship with Viet Nam, pledging to continue prioritizing official development assistance (ODA) to and cooperating with Viet Nam in digital transformation, green economy and climate change response.

Vo, for his part, expressed thanks to the Australian government for its sustainable ODA source and support for Viet Nam in undertaking United Nations peacekeeping missions.

He suggested the two sides continue to increase all-level delegation exchange, effectively promote cooperation mechanisms, boost collaboration in trade-investment, defense-security, culture, tourism and people-to-people exchange via the increase of flights between the two countries.

During the meeting with his Peruvian counterpart, the Vietnamese State leader reiterated that Viet Nam treasures the ties with Peru and the Latin American region.

Viet Nam expects to further strengthen friendship and multi-faceted cooperation, especially in politics-diplomacy, economy-trade-investment, culture, tourism and people-to-people exchange with Peru, he added.

He hailed the Peruvian government's cooperation and support for Viet Nam to carry out telecommunications and oil and gas projects, hoping that the Peruvian government would continue to pay attention to and facilitate Vietnamese enterprises' market and business expansion in the South American country.

Vo emphasized the need to increase contacts and exchange of all-level delegations between the two countries, effectively promote bilateral cooperation mechanisms, especially in economic-trade-investment.

He proposed bolstering coordination, effectively exploiting the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) and soon starting negotiations on agreements on investment protection, and double taxation avoidance, thus facilitating economic-investment cooperation between the two countries.

For her part, President Boluarte Zegarra recommended both sides foster economic-trade cooperation on par with the political-diplomatic ties.

She proposed Viet Nam consider opening its embassy in Lima and sign an agreement on visa exemption for both countries' citizens.

She took the occasion to invite the Vietnamese President to visit Peru and attend the 2024 APEC Economic Leaders' Week./.
