Indonesian President Joko Widodo is on a three-day State visit to Viet Nam at the invitation of Vietnamese President Vo Van Thuong.
This is the second time Indonesian President Widodo has made a State visit to Viet Nam, after the first in September 2018.
The Indonesian President is greeted with a 21-gun salute - the highest honor given by Vietnam to foreign leaders.

After the welcome ceremony, the two leaders hold talks. The visit is expected to contribute to tightening the traditional friendship between Viet Nam and Indonesia, which has been nurtured and developed for nearly 70 years.
It will offer an opportunity for the two sides to discuss measures to further deepen the Viet Nam - Indonesia strategic partnership, thus fully tapping potential for stronger bilateral cooperation in many fields.
Indonesia and Viet Nam have great potential for stronger cooperation, and it’s time for the two sides to lift their ties to new heights.
In Southeast Asia, Indonesia is currently Viet Nam’s third largest trading partner, while Viet Nam is Indonesia’s fourth largest trading partner.
Two-way trade turnover between the two countries has grown rapidly over the years, from US$9 billion in 2019 to US$14.2 billion in 2023.
