Politburo member Bui Thi Minh Hoai assigned as Secretary of Ha Noi Party Committee
VGP - Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Mass Mobilization Bui Thi Minh Hoai has been assigned by the Political Bureau as Secretary of the Party Committee of Ha Noi for the 2020-2025 tenure.
A ceremony was held in the capital city of Ha Noi on July 17 to announce the Political Bureau's decision.
Bui, 59, has been a member of the Politburo and the Party Central Committee across multiple terms (10th as an alternate member, 11th, 12th, and 13th terms).
She has held various positions, including Head of the Mass Mobilization Commission of the Ha Nam Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Phu Ly City Party Committee, and Permanent Vice President of the Viet Nam Farmers' Union.
In early 2011, Bui was elected Deputy Chairperson of the Central Inspection Commission. From May 2018, she served as the Standing Deputy Chairperson of the Central Inspection Commission.
At the 13th National Party Congress in early 2021, she was re-elected to the Party Central Committee and elected to the Secretariat.
In April 2021, the Politburo appointed Bui as Head of the Central Mass Mobilization Commission.
On May 16, 2024, Bui was among four new members elected to the Poliburo along with Le Minh Hung, head of the Party Central Committee's Organization Commission; Nguyen Trong Nghia, head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Information and Education; and Do Van Chien, President of the Central Committee of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front.
On June 20, the Politburo agreed to relieve Dinh Tien Dung from his position as Secretary of the Ha Noi Municipal Party Party Committee due to violating the Party's regulations and failing to properly carry out his tasks when he was Minister of Finance./.
