VGP – The 19-member Politburo has agreed on transforming the current province of Bac Ninh into a centrally-run city at the proposal of the local authorities.

June 24, 2026 2:37 PM GMT+7

The Politburo targets to develop Bac Ninh into a green, smart, modern, civilized, prosperous, and beautiful city that is deeply imbued with the Kinh Bac cultural identity.

Economic development process will be closely linked with ecological environment protection, with science, technology, and innovation as the main growth drivers.

Notably, the locality aims to develop modern, high-tech industries, and participate deeply in global supply chains, while establishing an electronics industry hub, with a focus on semiconductor industries, microchip manufacturing, and artificial intelligence.

Currently, Viet Nam has 34 localities, including seven centrally-run cities namely Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Hue, Da Nang, Dong Nai, and Can Tho./.
