Poland hands over more than 501,000 vaccine doses to Viet Nam

The event was attended by Vietnamese Ambassador to Poland Nguyen Hung, Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Paweł Jabłoński, Deputy Minister of Health Anna Goławska and head of the Strategic Reserves Agency Michał Kuczmierowski.
Viet Nam is the first non-Europe partner country to receive Poland’s vaccine and medical supply donations, according to the diplomat.
Poland will also donate medical equipment and supplies worth US$4 million, scheduled to arrive in Viet Nam in early September.
The two sides’ authorized agencies are discussing to soon hand over more than three million vaccine doses which Poland has committed to sharing with Viet Nam.
As of late August 20, 16,306,199 doses of vaccines have been administered in Viet Nam, with 1,636,372 people fully vaccinated.
Viet Nam confirmed 323,268 COVID-19 cases, ranking 72nd among 222 countries and territories in the world in terms of infection numbers.
Of the national patient tally, 132,815 patients have recovered and exited hospitals while the death toll reached 7,540./.
