PM welcomes Japan’s Kanagawa Governor

PM Phuc made the point on July 14 in Ha Noi while hosting a reception for Governor of Kanagawa’s Prefecture Yuji Kuroiwa.

PM Phuc recalled his impressions during the official tour of Japan this June and expressed his pleasure at the all-level developments in the strategic partnership in all fields.

The host leader appreciated Japan's local leaders for their visits to Viet Nam to seek cooperative opportunities, including those from Kanagawa prefecture.

“Japan is a reliable partner of Viet Nam not only in politics, diplomacy, but also economics,” PM Phuc said.

In reply, Governor Kuroiwa Yuji revealed that the Kanagawa delegation consisted of 17 enterprises and conducted a successful tourism and investment promotion seminar in Ha Noi. A large number of Japanese enterprises are interested in business opportunities in Viet Nam. Meanwhile, four Vietnamese IT enterprises also expressed their aspiration to set foothold in Kanagawa prefecture.

Mr. Kuroiwa Yuji said that Kanagawa prefecture reached a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Ha Noi Medical University on nutrition.

PM Phuc hoped that more Japanese investors would beef up their presence in Viet Nam, thus creating a new wave of investment in Viet Nam and making Japan as the leading FDI provider in the Southeast Asian nation.

The host leader took the occasion to seek support from Kanagawa prefecture where nearly 14,000 overseas Vietnamese people are living.

Mr. Phuc welcomed the organization of “a Vietnamese Festival in Kanagawa” and proposed the prefecture boost the model for other Japanese localities to learn about tourism promotion with Viet Nam./.
