PM receives US economist

VGP – PM Nguyen Tan Dung on November 15 received Professor Roger Myerson, the Nobel laureate in economics in 2007 who is on a visit to Viet Nam.

Talking to the economist, PM Dung confirmed that Viet Nam, as a developing economy, places importance on education and training as a top policy for rapid and sustainable development, industrialization, modernization and international integration.

Viet Nam is ready to cooperate with high-ranking universities in the world and welcomes foreign scientists to exchange experience and teaching method, he added.

The PM expected that Professor Roger Myerson will make practical contributions to boosting up cooperation between universities of the US and Viet Nam. 

Professor Roger Myerson highly spoke of Viet Nam’s policy of attaching importance to education and training.

He pledged to do his utmost to strengthen the two nations’ education cooperation.

Roger Bruce Myerson (born March 29, 1951) is an American economist and Nobel laureate recognized with Leonid Hurwicz and Eric Maskin for "having laid the foundations of mechanism design theory.”
