Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc (R) meets with Japanese Ambassador Kunio Umeda, Ha Noi, June 20, 2019

At the reception, ambassador Umeda said Japanese businesses plan to expand investment in Viet Nam, a country with huge development potential and always creating optimal conditions for investors.

He also mentioned several problems in bilateral cooperation that need to be addressed such as those relating to education-training, investment and trade.

In turn, PM Phuc wished to express his thanks to his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe for inviting him to attend the G20 Summit and visit the country later this month.

The trip will be made at a time when the Viet Nam-Japan extensive strategic partnership is flourishing in various spheres, he noted.

The Vietnamese PM gave opinions about ways to solve the problems pointed out by the ambassador.

PM Phuc also asked the ambassador to coordinate with the Vietnamese side to ensure that his upcoming visit to Japan will reap the best possible results, thereby lifting the countries’ cooperation to a new height in all fields, including economy, trade and investment.

As extensive strategic partners, the two sides have maintained high political trust, the leader noted, adding that he also welcomes stronger people-to-people and cultural exchange.
