PM receives Indonesian FM

VGP – For the sake of the fine bilateral ties, Việt Nam and Indonesia should early ink an agreement on the demarcation of territorial waters; boost up fishery cooperation; and conduct joint sea patrols, said the Government chief.

PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng on Wednesday hosted a reception to Indonesian FM Marty Natalegawa who is leading a delegation to Việt Nam at the invitation of Vietnamese Deputy PM, FM Phạm Gia Khiêm.

FM Marty Natalegawa was convinced that the friendly and traditional ties between Việt Nam and Indonesia would be on the rise. He underlined that Indonesia pledges to back the host nation to complete successfully the ASEAN rotating presidency in 2010.

Acting as the Chair of ASEAN, Việt Nam commits to fostering linkages among ASEAN member states and between the bloc with its partners, said PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng.    

The host leader also took the occasion to suggests Indonesia have appropriate treatment to Vietnamese poor fishermen who are being kept for their unintentional violations against Indonesian territorial waters.
