Pham underscored the advancement of the Viet Nam-China relationship in an increasingly stable and health manner is an important factor for national development in each country and conducive to peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

He expressed his belief that the two sides will work together to effectively implement the common perceptions and agreements reached at the 13th meeting of the Viet Nam-China Steering Committee for Bilateral Cooperation, maintain regular high-level exchanges and contacts, and promote the effectiveness of cooperation mechanisms in order to strengthen mutual understanding and trust.

On COVID-19 fight, Pham spoke highly of the two countries’ close and proactive coordination and mutual support since the beginning of the pandemic, extending sincere thanks for China’s vaccine aid.

As the pandemic rages on, no one is safe while others remain infected with COVID-19, and no nation is safe while others still have to grapple with COVID-19, PM Pham called on China to continue vaccine supply to Viet Nam and share COVID-19 treatment and pandemic management experience in border areas.

Regarding the East Sea issue, PM Pham underlined the need for both countries to their direct law enforcement forces to comply with the high-level common perceptions and the agreement on basic principles guiding the settlement of sea-related issues; strive to manage differences well, seriously implement the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC), foster negotiations on a practical and effective Code of Conduct in line with international law, especially the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, and ensure security, safety and freedom of navigation and aviation./.
