The special working group will be headed by Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh, noted the PM.

There are about 7,000 Vietnamese people in Ukraine, said Spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry Le Thi Thu Hang.

Last week, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed a public telegram ordering relevant ministries and agencies to ensure the highest safety and security for lives, property as well as legitimate interests of Vietnamese citizens and entities in Ukraine.

Pham ordered the Foreign Ministry to draw a plan to provide security and safety, and evacuate Vietnamese citizens and members of diplomatic missions if necessary, and provide them with food and other necessities.

The Prime Minister tasked the Ministry of Transport to direct Vietnamese airlines to prepare plans to bring Vietnamese citizens home.

Regarding the COVID-19 fight, he asked the Ministry of Health to study international experience to design proper response measures toward treating COVID-19 as an endemic disease.

Pham tasked Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam to continue directing the establishment of the COVID-19 prevention and control program for issuance this week.

He also urged ministries, agencies, and localities to finalize plans to implement their tasks enshrined in the Government's program on socio-economic recovery and development./.
