PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng attends Malaysia’s 50th anniversary of Independence Day

VNGOP - PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng, his spouse and the Vietnamese Government delegation took part in many important activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Malaysia’s Independence Day on August 31.

The Federation of Malaysia solemnly held a parade to celebrate its Independence Day on August 31. The ceremony was attended by Sultan Mahmud Al-Mukafi Billah Shah, his queen, and many senior officials of the Malaysian Government and 13 states. PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng and heads of state from many ASEAN countries and leaders of other countries, including the United Kingdom, France, Australia, and New Zealand, were also present at the event.
Receiving British Prince Andrew in the same morning in Kuala Lumpur, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng asked the UK to further assist Việt Nam in education and training by providing more scholarships to Vietnamese students and founding tertiary educational establishments in Việt Nam.
The Government chief also gave receptions to senior leaders of some leading Malaysian groups, including Lion (steel), AIR ASIA (aviation) and CIMB (finance), and highly lauded them for their operation in Việt Nam. 
PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng witnessed the signing of a memorandum on cooperation between the Việt Nam Shipping Industry Group (Vinashin) and the Lion Group to build a US$ 2.8-billion steel complex in the southern central province of Ninh Thuận. 
In the afternoon, the PM received Malaysian President of the SenateAbdul Hamid Pawanteh. He affirmed that the Vietnamese Government and people will offer the best conditions for foreign investors in general and Malaysian businesses in particular to succeed in Việt Nam.
It is reported that PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng and his wife will attend the 50th anniversary of the Independence Day at the Merdeka Stadium tonight.
