At a meeting with the top Austrian legislator, PM Phuc affirmed that Viet Nam always considers Austria its important and reliable partner in Europe, and wishes to boost bilateral ties in an extensive, effective and comprehensive fashion.

He highly appreciated the role played by the legislative bodies in promoting relations between the two countries, while applauding the Austrian parliament’s establishment of the Austria-South Asia and Southeast Asia Parliamentary Group, which, he said, contributes to strengthening Austria’s legislative relations with the region and Viet Nam.

PM Phuc asked the Austrian parliament and the parliamentary group to support Viet Nam to enhance comprehensive cooperation with the EU and facilitate the early signing and ratification of the Viet Nam-EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).

President of the Austrian parliament, Wolfgang Sobotka, welcomed the visit made by PM Phuc, hailing this as a new milestone in relations between the two countries.
