PM meets Australian Governor-General
VGP - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh paid a courtesy visit to Australian Governor-General David Hurley, in Canberra, on March 7, as part of his ongoing official visit to Australia.
The Prime Minister congratulated Australia on its successful organization of the Special Summit to commemorate the 50th anniversary of ASEAN-Australia dialogue relations.
He expressed thanks to the assistance of Australia for Viet Nam, remarkably the construction of My Thuan Bridge and Cao Lanh Bridge in the Mekong Delta.
Pham appreciated Australia's help to transport personnel and equipment for Viet Nam's Level 2 Field Hospital in South Sudan and train high-quality human resource for Viet Nam.
David Hurley, for his part, hailed Viet Nam's active contributions to the fruitful outcomes of the Special Summit.
Both leaders expressed their satisfactions with the bilateral ties over the last 50 years, pledging to bolster collaboration in terms of education, culture and people-to-people links.
They lauded the upgrade of the bilateral ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership on the occasion of Pham's ongoing official visit, adding that it is a crucial milestone in the history of the two countries' relationship, bringing practical interests for their peoples and contributing to peace and stability in the region and world./.
