During the fact finding tour, the Government leader inspected Coc Thanh pumping station; verified flooding in Quy Phu stone jetty and Huu Hong dyke; and worked with local leaders on ways to overcome storm consequences.

At a working session with local authorities, the PM ordered prompt measures to save rice and other crops to avoid food shortage and help farmers normalize their lives.

The PM stressed the necessity to re-grow rice in damaged areas or shift to cultivate resistant varieties to ensure productivity as well as inspect the sea dyke system, especially in landslide areas.

He also asked local authorities of typhoon-ravaged areas, including Nam Dinh, to promptly protect the environment, especially falling trees.

He required the weather forecasting agency to learn  the Mirinae forecasting lesson with a view to minimizing losses from future storms for people.

PM Phuc tasked ministries, agencies, and localities to keep a close watch on development of the upcoming second typhoon and prepare for possible heavy rain and landslides.

The Government leader asked the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to build plans to support farmers with rice and crop varieties. Meanwhile, the electricity sector was tasked to restore power for local production and daily lives. /.
