PM Dũng meets Senior General Than Shwe

VGP – PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng, who is on an official visit to Myanmar, this afternoon had a meeting with Senior General Than Shwe, chairman of the State Peace and Development Council (SPDC) of Myanmar.

PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng expressed his gratitude to the Government and people of

Myanmar

for their warm and hospitable reception given to him.

He wished Myanmar to successfully realize the 7-step roadmap to democratization and the general election.

The Vietnamese leader underlined that Việt Nam always places importance on and wants to consolidate and strengthen the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Myanmar.

Senior General Than Shwe showed his admiration to renovation achievements gained by Việt Nam and his confidence that PM Dũng’s visit would help to bring the bilateral relationship to new heights.

The host leader highly spoke of the joint statement reached by the two governments and urged competent agencies of the two sides to put the agreements made during this visit into reality.
