The event, attracting the participation of more than 300 delegates, aims to discuss viewpoints and measures to tackle difficulties for the supporting industry, which plays a crucial role in industrial development and other sectors in the country.

The meeting is regarded as the last event among the meetings held in the year to address critical and hot matters to the economy of Viet Nam, now dubbed as a “factory” of the world.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, there are limits in the scale and capacity of enterprises operating in the supporting industry in Viet Nam such as lack of human resources and low production scale.

Supporting industry firms are making up 4.5% of the total number of enterprises operating in the processing and manufacturing industry, creating more than 550,000 jobs.

The Government, ministries and agencies have issued a number of regulations on enhancing the development of the supporting industry over the recent years.

New measures and initiatives proposed at the meeting are expected to help the sector make breakthroughs in the time ahead, thus improving the capacity of Viet Nam’s industry and economy.
