PM attends 2012 CG meeting in HN
VGP - PM Nguyen Tan Dung revealed that, to realize socio-economic development goals in 2013, the Government will focus on stabilizing macro-economy, striving to achieve a higher Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth rate and lowering inflation.

So far, the Vietnamese Government has launched a number of synchronous solutions to control inflation, stabilize macro-economy, realize fiscal and monetary policies, and guarantee social welfare, the PM said.
Thanks to sponsors’ assistance, Viet Nam expects to obtain the GDP growth rate of 5.2% in 2012 and keep the inflation rate at 7.5%.
The Government will restructure the economy, adopt a sustainable development model, increase businesses and economy’s effectiveness and competitiveness, improve economic environment to attract more human resources and create foundation for sustainable development for the next years, confirmed the PM.
The PM desired that international sponsors will continue to help and cooperate with Viet Nam in terms of poverty reduction and investment the future.
Minister of Planning and Investment Bui Quang Vinh asserted that Viet Nam commits to coordinating and cooperating with sponsors to improve the implementation of projects and the efficiency of Official Development Assistance (ODA).
World Bank's Country Director for Viet Nam Victoria Kwakwa applauded Viet Nam’s achievements in socio-economic development, especially stabilizing macro-economy.
The CG meeting focuses on crucial issues related to Viet Nam’s development, including nurturing professional and skillful labor forces and land management, she added.
As one of Viet Nam’s development partners, the sponsors highly value the chances to talk with the Vietnamese Government about issues related to the country’s development, she confirmed.
She added that international sponsors will follow Viet Nam in the development and cooperation process as well as deal with the nation’s development issues with high responsibilities.
