Accordingly, the Ministry of Health is tasked for joining hands with the Ministries of Transport, Finance and Industry and Trade and border provinces’ People’s Committees and other relevant agencies to establish a process of medical quarantine, shipment of import and export goods and entry and exit of vehicles and drivers which will be applied at seaports, airports and land and railway border gates on the principle of facilitating the clearance of import and export goods as well as ensuring the requirements of disease prevention and control.

Drivers must wear protective gear, masks and carry out hygiene and disease prevention measures at border gates in order not to be isolated when they return Viet Nam.

The Prime Minister has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Industry and Trade on continuing exports, imports and transporting goods via secondary border gates of Tan Thanh and Coc Nam in the northern province of Lang Son and open road Km3 4 in Hai Yen, Mong Cai City, Quang Ninh Province on the basis of ensuring close and strict control on disease prevention for vehicles and drivers.

Earlier on February 4, Viet Nam halted operation of international passenger train service to China and vice versa since in order to contain the acute pneumonia caused by Covid 19, according to the Ministry of Transport.

Meanwhile, the international cargo trains through Dong Dang Railway Station (Lang Son Province) and Lao Cai Railway Station (Lao Cai Province) shall continue operation.
