The Minister of Public Security, and Chairmen of local-level People’s Committees must complete the tasks before 12:00 of March 25, 2020, according to the PM demanded while concluding a meeting on March 23.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was tasked to direct representative offices abroad to continue with citizen protection work, and encourage overseas Vietnamese not to flock home like the previous days but take preventive measures in the host countries.

The ministry was told to make a list of cases that need to return home, and coordinate with the Ministry of Transport and airlines to arrange flights for them if domestic quarantine areas are available.

The Government leader required temporary closure of unnecessary services such as restaurants and karaoke bars, to minimize large gatherings as part of measures to prevent further spread of COVID-19.

Places of worship were requested not to organize events with large numbers of people.

The Ministry of Transport must minimize the number of flights landing in Ha Noi’s Noi Bai aport and Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat airport as well as employing strict measures to prevent the transmissions of the virus on public transport means.

The PM has agreed that foreigners subject to COVID-19 quarantine will be given priority to stay in hotels and resorts.

He has demanded strict punishment for people subject to COVID-19 quarantine but intentionally skipping mandatory isolation and failing to make honest medical declaration.

The Ministry of Health was tasked to promptly purchase quick test kits and carry out rapid testing at quarantine centers and in the community to screen infected people and minimize infection risks.

As of March 24, the Ministry of Health confirmed 11 more COVID-19 infection cases, including three foreign nationals, raising the total number of patients to 134.

Of the total infection cases confirmed so far in Viet Nam, 118 cases have been reported since March 6. As many as 17 patients have recovered and exited hospitals./.
