PM approves ASEAN Customs Agreement

VGP – PM Nguyen Tan Dung has ratified an ASEAN Agreement of Customs signed on March 30, 2012 in Cambodia.

November 23, 2012 6:59 PM GMT+7

The Ministry of Finance will cooperate with related ministries and agencies to launch the Agreement.

The ASEAN Agreement of Customs is established based on the standards and recommended practices in the Kyoto Convention.

The Agreement outlines orientations to synthesize commitments of ASEAN economic integration related to customs such as the ASEAN one-door mechanism, the sixth Chapter of the ASEAN Trade in Goods Agreement and ASEAN Harmonized Tariff Nomenclature.

Accordingly, Viet Nam will receive maximum financial sponsor to prevent, investigate and suppress violations related to customs.

Besides, Vietnamese products exported to other nations and territories will be given priority thanks to the application of commitments of the Agreements such as the simplification of customs procedures, information technology application and the Authorized Economic Operator program.
