PM appoints new Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development

VGP – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has appointed Mr. Vo Van Hung as Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Vo Van Hung

Vo, aged 52, was promoted to the new role from his position as Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development was established since 1995 based on combination of Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, Ministry of Forestry and Ministry of Irrigation.

The ministry shall perform state management functions in the fields of agriculture, forestry, salt production, fishery, irrigation/water services and rural development nationwide, including state management functions with regard to delivery of public service in accordance with legal documents.

The ministry is currently led by Minister Le Minh Hoan, who is assisted by six Deputy Ministers: Phung Duc Tien, Tran Thanh Nam, Nguyen Hoang Hiep, Nguyen Quoc Tri, Hoang Trung, and Vo Van Hung./.
