Philippines treasures strategic partnership with Viet Nam: President Marcos

VGP - President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr reiterated that the Philippines attaches importance to its strategic partnership with Viet Nam during his reception for Vietnamese Ambassador to the Philippines Lai Thai Binh in Manila on January 2.

At the meeting, President Marcos expressed his delight on the upcoming visit to Viet Nam. He said both nations should explore the possibility for boosting cooperation, especially in terms of food security and maritime security, for peace and prosperity in the region and the world.

He also expressed his hope that the Ambassador will successfully carry out his tasks, making practical contribution to stepping up the friendship and multi-faceted cooperation between the two countries.

For his part, Lai vowed to do his utmost to strengthen the bilateral trade and investment ties, towards raising the bilateral trade value to US$10 billion.

He pledged to promote bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interests via bilateral framework as well as within ASEAN in order to strengthen the two sides' strategic partnership more intensively, effectively and practically./.
