Philippine President thanks Viet Nam for stable rice supply
VGP – Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue on Wednesday met Philippine President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos as part of his on-going visit to the Philippines.
Vuong congratulated the Philippines on successful organization of general elections in May this year and Ferdinand Marcos on his election as the 17th President of the country.
The top Vietnamese legislator expressed his belief that under the leadership of President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos, the Philippines would continue gaining greater and more comprehensive achievements in its cause of building a prosperous nation and raising its role and position in the region and the world.
Vuong conveyed the invitations of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and President Nguyen Xuan Phuc to President Ferdinand Marcos and his spouse to visit Viet Nam in the time ahead.
Vuong briefed about the outcomes of his talks with President of the House of Representatives Martin Romualdez, during which Vuong affirmed Viet Nam wishes to ceaselessly consolidate and enhance the strategic partnership across fields with the Philippines
President Ferdinand Marcos welcomed Vuong on his official visit to the Philippiness, saying that the visit would contribute to cementing the strategic partnership between the two countries in general and cooperation between the two legislative bodies in particularly.
Ferdinand Marcos thanked Viet Nam for stable supply of rice, which helps the Philippines to ensure food security amid global volatility.
The Philippine President suggested Viet Nam increase import of Philippine goods in a bid to balance the trade ties.
Both sides agreed to share information and support each other in order to contribute to consolidating solidarity, voice and central role of ASEAN in common security issues in the region.
