The top Belarusian legislators congratulated Viet Nam on its achievements in national development and extended their congratulations to General Secretary To, who was awarded the Order of Friendship of Peoples by President A. Lukashenko, reflecting Belarus's recognition of the Vietnamese leader's significant contributions to the bilateral ties.

They hailed the Vietnamese Party chief's visit as a historic one, saying that the agreements signed during the visit represent a new future for bilateral relations.

To, for his part, emphasized that Viet Nam always treasures its traditional friendship with Belarus, which was established in 1957 when President Ho Chi Minh visited the nation.

He expressed gratitude for Belarus's sincere support during Viet Nam's struggle for national liberation and unification in the past, as well as for its current development efforts.

Both sides pledged to elevate bilateral relations to a new stage in a new era of development, with concrete measures.

In the spirit of the newly upgraded Strategic Partnership, and amid a complex and evolving global landscape, both sides vowed to increase all-level delegation exchanges and contacts, especially high-level ones.

They emphasized the need to boost bilateral trade turnover, and expand cooperation in science and technology, education and training, culture, and tourism.

The leaders also discussed the early launching of direct flights, and enhancement of people-to-people exchanges and local-to-local linkages.

Both sides agreed to strengthen oversight of the implementation of signed documents, particularly the Free Trade Agreement between Viet Nam and the Eurasian Economic Union.

The two sides pledged to support each other at multilateral forums and inter-parliamentary organizations such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), with a view toward developing joint initiatives at international parliamentary forums./.
