Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s deep imprint on Viet Nam's development
VGP - Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has left a deep imprint on Viet Nam's national progress and development over the last few decades.
Indian Ambassador to Viet Nam Sandeep Arya made the above statement in his recent interview, expressing his deep condolences over the decease of the Vietnamese Party leader.
The diplomat said, the Vietnamese leader's vision, wisdom, and overall direction and guidance for the country's growth have been well laid out and developed.
"The depth of his contribution is very well respected, very well regarded in Viet Nam and around the world," Arya said.
According to the Ambassador, Viet Nam's achievements in socio-economic development, solidarity of the national people and working together for the future of the country are well recognized and widely respected.
The ambassador also expressed his impression of the Party General Secretary's vision with the bamboo school of diplomacy, saying that the vision had been laid out in his various speeches on the bamboo school of diplomacy.
His vision of the bamboo school of diplomacy is a very well thought through and a very wise step for leading the foreign policy of Viet Nam, Arya noted.
Regarding his sentiment to the General Secretary, Arya highlighted the late leader's ability of thinking very thoroughly and systematically and planning a path for Viet Nam's national growth and progress.
"So I think the fact that he had a vision for the overall governance of the country, he had the vision for economic development, the vision for agriculture, the vision for industry, the vision for workers, the vision for international relations, and the vision for the culture and identity of Vietnamese people," the ambassador said.
Regarding the Vietnamese leader's contributions to Viet Nam-India relations, the diplomat said, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is recognized in India as a friend who has participated in the development of Viet Nam-India friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership.
The Vietnamese leader paid a State visit to India 10 years ago. He had meetings with Indian senior leaders, including the meeting with the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2016 when he visited Viet Nam to elevate the bilateral ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership.
Party chief Nguyen Phu Trong held talks with Indian President Ram Nath Kovind (2018); and received Speaker of the Indian House of Representatives Om Birla (2022) and other Indian leaders when Indian leaders visited Viet Nam.
Ambassador Sandeep Arya also said that about two years ago, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong had a phone call with Indian Prime Minister Modi. The two leaders exchanged notes about the bilateral ties and also reinforced their commitment to developing the two nations' relations.
"We highly appreciate the contributions of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in developing the India-Viet Nam comprehensive strategic partnership," the Indian Ambassador shared.
The Indian leaders sent messages of condolences to Viet Nam on the passing of Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong, emphasizing their deep respect for the Vietnamese leader and his contributions to India-Viet Nam relationship./.
