Party General congratulates Xi Jinping on wining third term
VGP – Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has sent a message of congratulations to Xi Jinping who has been re-elected as the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China for the third five-year term.
Nguyen expressed his belief that under the leadership of the Communist Party of China with Xi at the core, the Chinese Party and people will successfully realize the targets set out at the 20th National Party Congress.
The Vietnamese Party chief appreciated and highly valued the good sentiments and great contributions of General Secretary Xi Jinping to the Viet Nam-China relations for the benefits of the two peoples.
Nguyen affirmed that he stands ready to work with Xi to direct subordinate levels, sectors and localities to effectively implement the agreements and perceptions reached by the two countries' senior leaders in order to further promote the bilateral ties to a new height in a stable, healthy and sustainable manner for the interests of the two Parties, States and peoples, and for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
Party leader Nguyen expected to meet with his Chinese counterpart soon to discuss strategic issues to contribute to further enhancing mutual political trust and work out major orientations for better future of the relationship between the two countries.
The 20th Communist Party of China National Congress concluded on Sunday in Beijing.
Following the closing ceremony, the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China convened the first plenary session on October 23, during which Xi was elected the General Secretary.
Xi was also named Chairman of the Communist Party of China Central Military Commission at the session.
Members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee were elected at the session, including Xi Jinping, Li Qiang, Zhao Leji, Wang Huning, Cai Qi, Ding Xuexiang and Li Xi.
