President Tharman said the Vietnamese leader's official visit to Singapore holds special significance.
The upgrade of bilateral relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership opens up a new chapter for the bilateral ties at a crucial time for both countries and inject fresh momentum for their people and businesses, emphasized the Singaporean leader.
He expressed his belief that Viet Nam will maintain its position as one of the most dynamic economies in the region, with impressive GDP growth, an attractive investment environment, and a continuously rising international standing.
Both sides should continue to promote exemplary cooperation models, further leverage opportunities for collaboration in new areas such as digital transformation and the carbon credit market; strengthen energy cooperation and enhance power grid connectivity, including the ASEAN power grid, he suggested.
To, for his part, stressed major directions and specific measures to implement the newly established comprehensive strategic partnership, including making the two countries pioneering partners in the region in science and technology cooperation, innovation, digital transformation, energy, data connectivity, semiconductor manufacturing, new technologies, and artificial intelligence.

During the meeting between To and the top Singaporean legislator, both sides expressed their delight with the positive and substantive outcomes of bilateral cooperation across multiple areas, including politics, diplomacy, defense-security, trade-investment, science-technology, education-training, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.
Peng described the recent elevation of bilateral ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership, the first comprehensive strategic partner of Singapore within ASEAN, as a historic milestone, which would opens up numerous cooperation and development opportunities for the two nations, thereby contributing to regional growth.
