Party chief chairs anti-corruption meeting
VGP - Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong presided over the 22th session of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-corruption in Ha Noi on August 17.
During the meeting, the committee reviewed the implementation of its working program in the first half of this year, and worked out tasks for the second half.
The Party General Secretary underlined the importance of perfecting mechanisms to prevent corruption and negative behaviors, control assets and incomes, especially in areas prone to corruption.
Loopholes and inadequacies in mechanisms and policies on bidding, auction, financial management, land use, and public property must be reviewed and amended, emphasized the Party chief.
He urged the Central Steering Committee to promptly complete investigations into 16 cases, conclude the verification and settlement of 39 others, prosecute 20 cases, hold first-instance trials for 22 cases and an appeal trial for one case./.
